Koonalda Homestead is an old pastoral station site just off the Eyre Highway, offering a glimpse into the isolated history of the Nullarbor region.

The remaining structures sit in open country, weathered by time and the harsh climate. It’s a quiet, atmospheric stop that adds a bit of character and history to what can otherwise feel like an endless stretch of highway.

What’s here:
✔ Station building ruins
✔ Open outback landscape
✔ Short detour off the highway
✔ Good photo opportunity

Important notes:
✔ Short unsealed access track
✔ No facilities
✔ Remote location — be self-sufficient
✔ Respect the site and leave no trace

Note: I unfortunately didn't hear about this stop but I am adding it based on a recommendation from a friend. This historic site isn't a major attraction but it could be enjoyable if you like outback history,
