Betws-y-Coed is a quaint village in the heart of Snowdonia, perfect for a short stop or a relaxed walk through its charming streets. I loved visiting Pont-y-Pair Bridge, where you can enjoy stunning views of the River Llugwy — and for the adventurous, it’s a popular spot for jumping into the river.
The village is ideal for a short stay, whether it’s just for a walk, a cozy lunch, or dinner at one of its local cafés or pubs. It’s also a gateway to nearby hiking trails and forests, giving you a taste of Snowdonia’s natural beauty even if you don’t stay overnight.
Parking: Avoid St Mary’s Church Pay & Display Car Park — we were fined despite paying, and it seems that many other visitors have had the same experience. Look for alternative parking in town to stay safe.
Tip: Bring water and layers if you plan to walk along the river. Early visits help avoid crowds and let you enjoy the village and bridge in peace.
