If you’re looking for a proper reset that’s just a one-hour drive from Manchester, then you need to check out 'The Roe' at Snowhill Glamping on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. It’s a luxury glamping pod in Lancashire, and honestly, it’s the perfect day or weekend escape for anyone looking to switch off, listen to some music, and relax in a private hot tub. We visited in May 2026 for a weekend and had an amazing time—we even spotted wild deer and pheasants roaming in the fields right in front of the pod!

One of the best parts about this pod is how close you are to everything without even needing to drive. You can easily wander into the nearby village of Scorton (5' walk), or grab a bite to eat at great local places like The Applestore (10' walk)and The Barn (5' walk). If you're feeling more active, the surrounding area is packed with hiking, cycling, wild swimming, and paddleboarding. Beautiful spots like Wyresdale Park and lake, Grizedale Reservoir, the Tarn, and Nicky Nook are practically on your doorstep (all under 20-30' walk). And if you do fancy a short drive, you're perfectly located to explore the spectacular Trough of Bowland.

The interiors are beautifully designed and incredibly well-thought-out, featuring a fully equipped kitchen that even comes with a dishwasher and an oven. The host is wonderfully welcoming and highly responsive, making the whole stay seamless. Between the stunning views, the luxury amenities, and the unbeatable location, it’s a real standout for a Lancashire getaway.

Parking: Free parking is available on-site for one car per pod. Pet Policy: No pets allowed for 'The Roe' but they also have another 4 pods including some that are pet-friendly. Good to know: The site features picnic tables for outdoor dining, and there is a brilliant on-site sauna that you can book as an extra during your stay.
