Talacre Beach is a wide, windswept stretch of sand on the north coast of Wales, perfect for long walks, kite flying, and spotting the iconic Point of Ayr Lighthouse in the distance. Its dunes and tidal flats give it a wild, untouched feel, and at low tide you can wander far out along the sand with the sea on one side and grassy dunes on the other.

Parking is available in Talacre village (pay-and-display), and the beach is dog-friendly, making it ideal for a family outing or a peaceful stroll. You’ll often spot seabirds, and on a clear day, the horizon seems to stretch forever — a perfect spot to watch the sunrise or sunset.

Why we loved it: The combination of open sand, rolling dunes, and the lighthouse backdrop makes it feel like a hidden gem of the North Wales coast. Even on busier days, there’s plenty of space to find your own quiet spot.

Tip: Visit at low tide to explore more of the beach and walk closer to the lighthouse.
