🛏 2 bedrooms | 🚗 Free parking | 🌄 Epic views | 🍽 Fully equipped kitchen | 🧭 Perfect for exploring the Lake District

Looking for a peaceful and spacious base in the Lake District with direct access to hikes and scenic landscapes? This renovated farmhouse apartment in Keswick was one of our most memorable stays in the UK for its views, location, and relaxing vibe. We stayed there for a week in November 2023.

📍 Location Highlights:

  • Located just outside Keswick, this stay is very close to the Castlerigg Stone Circle – one of the most iconic and scenic ancient sites in the region.

  • Surrounded by mountains and nature trails, it’s perfect for hikes and sunset views straight from the grounds.

  • You'll need a car to reach it comfortably, especially since the property is accessed via a rough track and the Airbnb listing pin isn't entirely accurate – we’ve added the exact location pin on this map for easier navigation.

🛏 The Space:

  • Set within a converted 1850s farmhouse, the apartment is split across two floors and offers plenty of space for up to 4 guests.

  • It includes:

    • 2 bedrooms: one double with ensuite (shower + toilet), and a twin room with two single beds (can be zip-linked).

    • A second full bathroom with both bath and shower.

    • A large living/dining area with books, games, and mountain views from every window.

    • A fully stocked kitchen with an oven, hob, dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, and fridge-freezer.

🌅 Why we loved it:

  • The outdoor space and panoramic views of Cat Bells and surrounding ranges were truly breathtaking – perfect for golden hour photography or just a peaceful sit-down at the picnic tables.

  • Although some of the interior furniture is a bit dated, everything was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable.

  • The quiet and secluded setting made it feel like a hidden gem.

  • The large layout means it’s ideal for small families or friend groups looking for a Lake District base.

🚶‍♀️ Know before you go:

  • There are quite a few stairs inside, so it may not be ideal for guests with reduced mobility.

  • The Wi-Fi worked well, and there’s free parking for 2 cars.

  • It’s about a 5-minute drive into Keswick town centre, where you’ll find shops, restaurants, and other amenities.
