Tucked along Conwy’s picturesque quay, the Smallest House in Great Britain is exactly what it says on the tin — a bright-red, two-storey home measuring barely 72 inches wide and 122 inches high. It’s hard to miss thanks to its vivid colour, standing out sharply against the harbourfront. Built in the 16th century and last lived in by a 6’3” fisherman (how he managed is anyone’s guess!), it’s now a fun curiosity for visitors exploring this medieval town.
You can snap photos from the quay for free, or step inside for just £1.50 per adult / £1 per child. A friendly guide in period costume will even take your photo outside before you peek inside the surprisingly well-kept but tiny interior. Personally, we thought the outside view was more striking — its dollhouse-like proportions against Conwy’s massive harbour backdrop make for a great picture.
Tip: Visit early or late in the day to avoid the tour groups, then combine with a stroll along the harbourfront and Conwy Castle visit for a perfect half-day.
