Back in August 2025, a group of 8 of us decided to tackle the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, and this converted barn in Horton-in-Ribblesdale turned out to be the perfect base for it. It’s located right in one of the 3 the starting villages, which meant we could roll out of bed before the sun rises and start hiking without any faff — a real gift when you’ve got 24 miles ahead of you!
The barn sleeps up to nine people, making the £220 per night price incredibly good value for groups. Inside, it’s been beautifully renovated — rustic beams, modern comforts, and plenty of space to collapse after a long hike. Being in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, you’re surrounded by stunning scenery even when you’re not hiking.
If you’re planning to take on the challenge — or just want a memorable group stay in the Dales — this spot hits the sweet spot of location, comfort, and character.
Parking: Ample space in the barn's garden for multiple cars.
Pet Policy: One small dog is welcome (£50 fee), but keep them on a lead outside as you’re in active sheep-farming country.
