Explore more than the coastline
The villages, landscapes and mining history that many visitors miss

Elba, Italy
Elba is known for its beaches, but the island’s interior is just as rewarding. Historic villages such as Marciana, Capoliveri and Rio nell’Elba offer narrow lanes, viewpoints, cafés and small local shops.
The island’s former mining areas provide a very different landscape, with red rocks, old industrial buildings and traces of Elba’s iron-mining past.
Hiking and mountain biking routes lead through forests, hills and exposed ridges with wide views across the island and the sea.
Travelistas tip: Plan at least one day away from the beach. It will give you a much better impression of Elba’s character and history.
