Rent a small car on Elba

Renting a car gives you the most freedom on Elba. Many smaller beaches, mountain villages and trailheads are difficult to reach by public transport.

Choose a compact car rather than a large vehicle. Elba’s roads can be narrow, winding and steep, while parking spaces are often small. Cars can be rented around Portoferraio harbour as well as in places such as Marina di Campo and Porto Azzurro. Several local providers also offer delivery around the island.

Travelistas tip: Photograph the car from every side before driving away and check what the insurance covers. During summer, reserve early rather than waiting until arrival.
