The waterfall is just as beautiful as the whole path to get to it: a truly beautiful hike in the middle of nature, following streams and waterfalls, dense forests and lots of greenery everywhere. With occasional difficult moments but overall quite accessible, it's enjoyable from start to finish and allows you to enjoy the natural environment at all times. You will find the start of the trail at Trilho do Sanguinho, near the bus station on Rue do Burguete in Faial da Terra. You have the option to make it circular by going down to the eco-village of Aldeija do Sanguinho; but I would not reccomend it. The difference in level is exaggerated, and the paved path is extremely difficult to walk without slipping.
