Axlafoss, also known as Axlarfoss, may not be the tallest waterfall at just 8 meters, but it's a real gem tucked away in Iceland's central highlands under the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. You might not be able to get right up to the edge of the waterfall, but the views from the canyon's edge are seriously impressive. To find Axlafoss, head about 1 kilometer off the F910 road, roughly 30 kilometers northwest of the Ring Road. It's a bit off the beaten path, but totally worth the detour for some stunning Icelandic scenery!
