The hot springs are on private property, but visitors are usually welcomed if respectful. After parking, walk about a half mile downstream on the east side of the creek to reach Hunt Hot Springs. Alt route: Follow Forest Road 40N17 from Highway 89 toward McCloud via Interstate 5. Park at turnout near signed gate, then hike two miles until the pools.

Pools at Hunt Hot Springs present a range of temperature and capacity options. I see water temperatures fluctuating from 95°F to 110°F among four to five distinct pools. Some pools fit two or three adults comfortably, like the riverside pool, while others accommodate six or more people, such as the larger upper pool.

Extra light traffic on this one. Always pack in pack out and leave no trace.
