Guarding the entrance to Old Muscat's harbour, Al Mirani Fort is a beautifully restored piece of our 16th-century history. You'll climb stairs carved right into the rock to reach the top, where the panoramic views of the city, the Al Alam Palace, and the Sea of Oman are absolutely breathtaking. It’s a must-see, especially in the late afternoon as the sun begins to set, casting a golden glow over the water. The fort is compact and can be comfortably explored in about an hour, though there is an admission fee to enter.
