Casa Esmeralda was the perfect place to stay while exploring Chefchaouen. Tucked right in the heart of the medina, it made it easy to wander the blue streets whenever we wanted. The house itself was cozy and felt much more like staying in a local home than a hotel. My favorite part was the private rooftop terrace, where we could relax and take in panoramic views of the blue city and surrounding mountains. Omar, our host, was also incredible. He was always happy to answer questions, recommend places to eat, and point us toward things to do around the city. His recommendations ended up being some of our favorite parts of Chefchaouen and made us feel much more like locals than tourists.
