If there’s one walk in Manali that felt like it gave more than it asked, it was the trail to Jogini Waterfall. The path takes you past apple orchards, sleepy homes, and children yelling out “hello!” like it’s a part of their job. The waterfall itself isn’t massive, but when it comes into view, cascading down a rugged cliff, framed by pines, it genuinely takes your breath away. There were a few folks meditating under the rocks, someone sketching quietly, and a small group trying (and failing) to take the perfect drone shot. I sat on a rock, shoes off, and took it all on
How to Get There
Start the walk from Vashisht village, just a few kilometers from Manali. The hike is about 30–45 minutes, not too steep but it does get rocky toward the end. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting a little muddy. No entry ticket, no gate, no lines.
What to Do
This one's all about the walk, not the destination. But once you're there, sit by the pool at the base or climb a little higher for a different angle. It's also a sacred site, so don’t be obnoxious — keep the speaker in your bag.
For the Curious
Locals believe the area around the fall is blessed by the goddess Jogini. There’s even a small shrine near the base. If you’re someone who likes quiet, spiritual places with a raw energy — this one’s got that in spades.
Good to Know
There are no shops on the trail or near the falls. Carry water and maybe a sandwich. Best to go early morning or post-lunch to avoid the small crowd that gathers later in the day. And yes, don’t wear flip-flops. You’ll regret it.
