How to Get There
Getting to Jibhi isn’t fast, and that’s kind of the point. We took a bus to Aut, then a cab the rest of the way, winding through pine forests and villages that felt like they'd been asleep for decades. It’s tucked deep in Banjar Valley, and honestly, once you get there, you won’t be in a rush to leave.

What to Expect
Jibhi has this quiet that doesn’t feel empty, it feels intentional. The sound of the stream, wooden homestays with creaky floors, that smell of wet pine and Maggi. This place doesn’t scream for your attention. It just sits there and lets you come undone a bit. There’s not much to “do” here, which is what makes it perfect. Mornings with chai by the river. Long walks without Google Maps. Evenings under fairy lights and blankets.

For the Curious
People talk a lot about Jibhi now, but it still holds onto its roots. There are old temples nearby (the Chaini Kothi trek is short and beautiful), and the village kids will still wave at you like you’re a guest, not a tourist. I met a homestay owner who told me stories of how there used to be only 2-3 houses hosting visitors, now there are dozens, but somehow, the warmth hasn’t left. We stayed at moonstone Hammock in their innovative glamping units and would highly recommend.

Good to Know
– It gets cold even in May, so yes, bring a jacket.
– Don’t expect network or fast Wi-Fi. Expect conversations and card games instead.
– You’ll find cafés with decent coffee and even better views. Try one, then try another.
– Waterfalls are nearby, Jibhi Waterfall is sweet, but go early if you want it to yourself.
– It’s a great base for exploring Shoja or Jalori Pass too.
