I walked into the temple expecting, well, just another ancient site people say you should visit. But something about this place caught me off guard. Maybe it was the smell of damp stone and incense mixing in the air, or the steam quietly rising from the hot springs in the back.

What to do here:
There’s an old world energy in this temple, with its intricately carved wooden structure and the natural hot water springs that are still in use. I didn’t plan to dip my feet in, but the moment I did, it felt like something in me exhaled. The water is hotnreally hot, and locals swear by its healing properties. There's a separate bathing area for men and women, and trust me, the experience is oddly grounding.

How to get there:
It’s about a 10 minute drive from the bustle of Mall Road, or a 30 40 minute uphill walk if you’re feeling adventurous (and maybe stubborn, like I was). Autos and local cabs will get you there easily, and the route is scenic with views of the Beas River.

For the curious:
It’s said that sage Vasistha himself meditated here, and that the springs were a divine gift. I’m not usually one for mythology, but there’s something sacred about the silence here that makes the stories easier to believe.

Good to know:
The temple is still very much in use, so keep it respectful. Dress modestly, and if you’re planning to try the springs, carry a change of clothes. And no, you don’t need to be spiritual to appreciate this place, just tired enough to want to sit still and feel the heat soak into your bones.
