Daily Qanat Izumiya became our home away from home in Kyoto - you know you've found your local spot when you start recognizing the layout without thinking about it! While it might not be the biggest supermarket in Kyoto, it had everything we needed and was perfectly positioned in the Nishijin area for our daily needs.

What makes these Japanese grocery stores special is how they're so different from what we're used to back home - from the perfectly packaged produce to the amazing prepared food section. We probably spent way too much time browsing the aisles just discovering new snacks and drinks to try.
