THE STANDARD BAKERS became our morning ritual in Nikko - you know a bakery's good when you find yourself making excuses to walk there every day! The smell of fresh-baked bread wafting out onto the street was basically our breakfast alarm clock.

There's something comforting about finding "your" bakery in a new city, and this place earned that title quickly. Their croissants were our go-to, but honestly, everything coming out of their ovens was worth trying. We probably sampled half their menu during our stay!
