Palacio Nazarenas is one of the most refined stays in Cusco. Set in a former 16th-century convent just steps from Plaza de Armas, it blends colonial architecture with modern luxury — and it does it exceptionally well.

If you want to stay in Cusco without sacrificing comfort, this is the move.

Why it stands out:

• All-suite property with oxygen-enriched rooms (huge at 11,000+ ft)

• Heated outdoor pool — rare in Cusco

• Central location but tucked away from street noise

• Exceptional service and dining

• Easy access to San Blas, Plaza de Armas, and key historical sites

Who it’s best for:

• Couples

• Luxury-focused travelers

• Families wanting space and high service

• Travelers spending 1–2 nights pre- or post-Machu Picchu

What to know:

Cusco sits at ~11,150 ft. This is not where I recommend starting your trip. I strongly prefer clients acclimate in the Sacred Valley first (lower elevation), then move to Cusco later.

If you insist on starting in Cusco, this is one of the safest luxury bets because of the oxygen-enriched suites and high comfort level.
