Just outside Cusco, you'll discover Tambomachay, a place we locals affectionately call the "Bath of the Inca." It's a truly special site, built as a shrine to water, where you can still witness the genius of Inca hydro-engineering in the waterfalls and canals that have flowed continuously for centuries. The main ruins are an easy and pleasant five-minute walk from the entrance, allowing you to soak in the peaceful atmosphere of the high Andes before you even arrive.
