Masjid Putra in Putrajaya, just outside Kuala Lumpur, is the pink-domed mosque everyone wants to photograph, so arrive early or late to avoid crowds and get the best light at sunrise or sunset. It is a functioning mosque, so dress modestly, cover shoulders and legs, and women should have a headscarf; remove your shoes before entering and be respectful during prayer times, especially Friday midday when access for visitors may be limited. Entry is generally free, photography of the exterior and public areas is fine if you stay respectful, and you can easily combine a visit with a stroll along Putrajaya Lake and Putra Bridge. If you prefer public transport, take the train to Putrajaya/Cyberjaya station and grab a short taxi or bus; parking is available but can fill up on weekends.
