Stuðlagil Canyon is one of the most famous and picturesque locations in Iceland. Therefore, it attracts thousands of visitors. We had this place all to ourselves by arriving just before sunrise. The most important step is to pick the right car park because there are two. You need to park on studlagil east side carpark which is located here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QrDJUWSdHrVjFVWC8. If you park here you will be able to walk down to the canyon and get a picture like us. There are two structures located at the canyon. Make sure to go to the second one opposite of the viewing platform to get the same picture as us. It takes about 45min one way to hike there so plan enough time if you are visiting for sunrise.
