Berlin's Christmas markets (Weihnachtsmärkte) are among the city's biggest seasonal attractions. They generally run from late November through late December, with some extending into early January.

Here are some of the most famous markets and where to find them:

1. Gendarmenmarkt Christmas Market

- ​​Location: At the historic Gendarmenmarkt square, between the French Cathedral and the German Cathedral.

Note: Due to construction work at Gendarmenmarkt, the market has been temporarily relocated to Bebelplatz, in front of the Berlin State Opera.

2. Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church Christmas Market

- ​​Location: In front of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, in the heart of West Berlin, near the Kurfürstendamm shopping street.

3. Alexanderplatz Christmas Market

- ​​Location: At the bustling Alexanderplatz, one of the city's main squares.

4. Spandau Christmas Market (Spandauer Weihnachtsmarkt)

- Location: In the historic center of Spandau, a district west of central Berlin (accessible via U-Bahn and S-Bahn).

5. Lucia Christmas Market

- ​​Location: In the courtyard of the Kulturbrauerei brewery complex in Prenzlauer Berg.
