Germany

Berlin has a temperate continental climate, meaning the four seasons are distinct, with mild-to-warm summers and cold winters.

Winter (December to February)

Winter in Berlin is cold, gray, and damp.

- Temperatures: averages range from -1°C to 4°C, but can drop below freezing for extended periods.

- Weather: days are short and dark. Snow is common, though it rarely stays on the ground for long in the city center. Precipitation is moderate and can fall as rain, snow, or sleet.

- What to expect: ideal for visiting Christmas markets in December, ice skating, and enjoying the cozy atmosphere of cafés. Warm winter clothing is essential.

Spring (March to May)

Spring is a transitional season with unpredictable weather.

- Temperatures: averages rise gradually from 5°C in March to 18°C in May. March and April can still see cold days with frost.

- Weather: the weather begins to warm up and days get longer. The city blooms with cherry blossoms and tulips. May is generally a pleasant, warmer month.

- What to expect: excellent for strolling through parks (like the Tiergarten) and gardens, though it is wise to keep a coat and umbrella handy, as the weather can change quickly.

Summer (June to August)

Berlin summers are pleasant, and this is the peak tourist season.

- Temperatures: averages range between 18°C and 25°C, but heatwaves can push temperatures above 30°C for several days.

- Weather: days are long, with the sun setting late (around 9:30 PM in June). Precipitation is moderate and often occurs in the form of brief thunderstorms. - What to expect: It is the season for open-air festivals, picnics in the park, swimming in lakes (such as Wannsee or Müggelsee), and enjoying the vibrant nightlife on terraces and in bars.

Autumn (September to November)

Autumn brings beautiful colors to the city and crisp weather.

- Temperatures: averages drop from 17°C in September to 6°C in November.

- Weather: September is often a mild extension of summer (an "Indian summer"), but October and November become progressively colder, wetter, and windier, with shorter days. The leaves turn vibrant colors.

- What to expect: a great time for cultural visits to museums and galleries. Layered clothing is ideal for adapting to changing temperatures. By November, the weather is already quite wintry.
