Public transportation in the Cologne region is well-structured, featuring various bus lines, the U-Bahn (subway), S-Bahn (train), and Strassenbahn (tram) spread throughout the city, with extensions reaching as far as Bonn.

An Einzelticket (single ticket) costs €3.70 for adults and €1.90 for children; both are for the 1b zone, which covers travel within Cologne or Bonn.

For travel to the wider metropolitan area (including the airport), a 2b ticket must be purchased, costing €5.00 for adults and €2.50 for children.

To travel from Cologne to Bonn — or vice versa — the ticket to purchase is the Zone 4 ticket, priced at €10.30 for adults and €4.90 for children.
