Cologne offers visitors the KölnCard, a pass that grants unlimited access to all public transportation, as well as discounts on admission to attractions such as museums, restaurants, bars, the zoo, the cable car crossing the Rhine, and boat tickets for KD—the company that operates cruises along the Rhine River.
A 24-hour individual pass valid exclusively within the city of Cologne (transport zone 1b) costs €9.00, while a pass for up to five people costs €19.00. A 48-hour individual pass for the city of Cologne only costs €18.00, and a pass for up to five people costs €38.00.
The KölnCard can be purchased at automated machines located throughout the train stations, at KVB customer service centers (Cologne’s public transport operator), at tourist information offices and online at this website.
