Alpe di Siusi, also known as Seiser Alm, is the highest alpine meadow in Europe, located in the Dolomites of Italy. In the summer months, this lush green meadow transforms into a popular hiking and biking destination, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Visitors can explore the area by hiking, cycling, or taking the bus to different villages like Compatsch and Saltria. There are 2 gondolas that will take you up here, one in Ortisei called Mont Seuc Cable Car and the other in Castelrotto called Alpe di Siusi Aerial Cableway. You can also drive here and park at the Compatsch parking lot (costs around 20 euros) but you can only drive UP to the parking lot before 9am and after 5pm. You can drive back down at any time. If you do book a hotel here, they will give you a permit to drive up and down at any time. There's lots of mountain huts and restaurants you can walk or bike to around the meadow. I highly recommend spending a good amount of time or even a full day here to soak in all the views.
