Almudena Cathedral is Madrid’s main cathedral, located just across from the Royal Palace. ⛪️ The first stone was laid in 1883, but it took over 110 years for the cathedral to be completed and consecrated! Its architecture beautifully blends neoclassical, neo-Gothic, and neo-Romanesque styles.
Don’t miss the rooftop terrace — it offers stunning views of the city and the Royal Palace. 🌆
⏰ Opening hours: 10:00–20:30
💶 Entry: A donation of €1 per person
My tip:
Right next to the cathedral and palace, you’ll find two fantastic free viewpoints:
One with panoramic views of Campo del Moro park, Casa de Campo forest, and the surrounding area 🌳 Here
One offering the perfect angle of the cathedral itself 📸 Here
Visit around sunset for the most magical experience! 🌇
