What you’ll do

The Isles of Colonsy and Oronsay, located in the Southern Hebrides off Scotland’s west coast, are two rugged and unique islands surrounded by stunning white beaches and vibrant blue seas. I’ve visited these beautiful Hebridean islands a few times now, and one of my favourite experiences is attending the Ceol Cholasa Music Festival, a truly magical event. Every trip is packed with beautiful swim spots, delicious food, and breath taking views. I couldn’t recommend it more! So, let’s dive into the logistics of planning your visit. For a preview of an ideal trip to these magnificent islands you can watch my photos, mini guides and videos on Instagram.

This itinerary offers a blend of hidden gems and off the beaten path locations I’ve enjoyed across Colonsay and Oronsay. You’ll experience a bit of everything, from stunning beaches and live music, to sheep strolling on single track roads and peering into old bothies. To get a full flavour of the island in 90 seconds, watch my video here.
