Strútsfoss, also known as the Ostrich Waterfall, is a hidden gem in Iceland's Eastern Region. Standing at an impressive height of 575ft (175m), it is the country's third tallest waterfall. The name "Strútsfoss" comes from its tall and straight drops, just like an ostrich stretching to its fullest height. The waterfall is famous for its colorful layers on the cliffsides, featuring gray basalt and red or yellow sediment. Although the hike to Strútsfoss takes about an hour and can be a bit challenging, the stunning views of the waterfall and the surrounding valley make it totally worth it. So if you're up for an adventure off the beaten path, don't miss out on Strútsfoss!
