Hvammskirkja í Norðurárdal is a charming little wooden church located in the Norðurárdalur valley in Iceland. Built in 1880, it was designed by Björn Þorláksson, a local blacksmith and farmer, who later became a renowned architect. Over the years, the church has undergone some changes, including being clad in iron and painted on the inside. In 2009, the church's tower was rebuilt, taking inspiration from its original design from the early 20th century. With its picturesque cross-shaped roof and traditional Icelandic architecture, Hvammskirkja is not only a protected heritage site but also a beloved place of worship for the local community.
