Hidden gem in North Iceland

Message from Aron Tómas Guðmannsson

Drekagil, also known as Dragon Gully, is a hidden gem in North Iceland with twisted lava formations and dramatic landscapes. Often overlooked by travelers, this fairytale-like canyon offers a unique experience away from the crowds. Visitors can hike to a hidden waterfall, but be cautious as conditions can change quickly. Accessible only in summer via a bumpy four-wheel-drive road, Drekagil provides basic amenities like campsites and cabins, but remember to bring your own supplies as there are no shops nearby.
