Aparecida do Norte, also known as Aparecida, is a Brazilian municipality in the state of São Paulo. It's famous for being home to the Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida, the patron saint of Brazil. This small town attracts millions of tourists each year who come to visit the statue of Our Lady of Aparecida, found in the Paraíba River in 1717. With a hot climate and plenty of religious attractions, Aparecida is a popular pilgrimage site in Latin America.
