Khan El Khalili Bazaar is an incredible place to visit for a true Egyptian experience. Located behind Al Azhar Park near the Citadel, the bazaar has been around since 1382 and continues to be a major foreign trade center to this day. Stroll through its maze-like alleys to find centuries-old buildings, spice markets, perfume markets, antique, fabric, copper, and silver shops, as well as many carpet collections and souvenir stands. Enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the traditional restaurants and cafes like the famous El Fishawy Coffee Shop, founded in 1769. Be sure not to miss Bab al-Badistan, and the Wikala of Sultan Qansuh al-Ghuri gates as you take in the sights, smells, and sounds of Khan El Khalili!
