Parking/ Track:

Ideally you'll 4WD all the way to the hut. If not, park as far along as your 4WD will go. It's around 8km of 4WD road, but very basic except for the river crossings you could have a 2WD.

Hut:

The hut is a standard 6 bunk with individual bunks. Standard NZFS S70 layout.

Recommendations:

A great experience. If you'd like you can walk it, but that will likely be a bit boring for kiddos, though it's not long so a great option for older kids who'll be at the hut before they get bored. But if you know your younger kids won't mind the long walk, it can work with toddlers as it's a nice wide track for them to walk. You will get wet boots walking.
