Parking:

In a 2WD you will need to park at the junction with the 4WD road. There isn't really any parking spots, just pull off the road there is enough space for around 2 cars to be parked on the roadside and other cars to still get past.

The Track:

The track the whole way is on a 4WD road, and predominantly flat. You do drop down towards the end of the track, but otherwise there isn't really any undulation.

Walking with a 4 year old and carrying a baby took us just over an hour - the 4 year old walked holding an adults hand on either side swinging between so that sped her up a bit.

Driving, it's not a technical 4WD, but you would need an actual 4WD.

Hut:

The hut was done up significantly in 2007. Not much remains of the original hut.

Being 4WD accessible, it does unfortunately end up being the victim of vandalism occasionally.

4 beds - individual bunks in a separate room to the main lounge with a fantastic deck with great views of the river.

Recommendations:

 This hut is very easy to access, so great to visit with all ages - can push a pram from the 2WD parking spot even, and close enough to jog to return for a 2nd bag if needed.

Walk can be boring on a 4WD road but in autumn when we went there were many stunning mushrooms to look at.

The location is definitely surprisingly beautiful next to the river. Can be busy with 4WD cars on long weekends however.
