The Track:
This is a very short walk to the hut. Slightly downhill to the hut, but only 300m. It took us about 4 minutes. You're also pretty sheltered, so not a bad walk to do if you can't do a bigger trip due to poor weather conditions.
Hut:
The bunks are not the standard built in bunks, but instead there's bunk beds which are slightly lower than the usual built in bunks. Open fire, best to BYO firewood.
No clearing to play at next to the hut, but you're on the edge of other tracks if you want to head off and explore.
The hut is an older style, and can be busy with hunters camping out, or Friday night trampers getting ready to head off early the next morning.
Recommendations:
A great easy hut for all ages - even a 1yo could walk the whole way.
