What you'll do

Day 1

1

Royal National Park - Diverse hikes & waterfalls

Hike

Escape Sydney in less than an hour

A very popular spot amongst Sydney-siders looking for a break from the hustle and bustle. I love stopping in here when heading to/ from Sydney - the perfect spot to catch your breath when nearing the big city.

The Royal National Park is known for its diverse terrain and stunning coastal scenery. The park offers over 100kms of walking tracks, camping sites, and beautiful beaches. You can explore heathlands, rainforests, and rocky cliffs while enjoying activities like hiking, cycling, and picnicking.

2

Bald Hill Lookout - Take in the iconic coastline at sunset

Sightseeing

Popular scenic lookout, perfect for a sunset picnic

We loved this for sunset! Bald Hill Lookout is a hidden gem where you can take in jaw-dropping views of the coastline, and see the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge nestled amongst the coastline.

It's especially popular amongst locals, who gather here at sunset for a picnic, enjoying the social atmosphere as the sky turns to gold and pink.

3

Sea Cliff Bridge - That iconic bridge everyone posts about!

Sightseeing

If you have a drone, get it ready!

Whether you drive or walk this bridge, it's not to be missed! It's so stunning, especially at sunrise or early afternoon - so if you're keen to get the perfect shot, revolve it around these times to avoid traffic & sun glare!

Insta vs reality; it took me like 8 attempts to get the perfect drone bridge video xx

The lookout is at the southern end, which I'll also drop a pin for :)

4

Sea Cliff Bridge Lookout - See it from above!

Sightseeing

Stunning views of the bridge; avoid the afternoon

The Sea Cliff Bridge Lookout, located in Clifton, Illawarra just south of Sydney, offers stunning aerial views of the iconic bridge winding along the cliffs. Take it from me who usually goes in the afternoon, try get to the lookout before the sun goes behind the cliffs - as it will cast a large shadow (still beautiful, but a bit darker!).

Despite its popularity on social media, this unofficial lookout is actually quite a hidden gem. Starting at the nearby Clifton playground carpark, you'll see signs pointing to the start of the track. It's a short but steep 10-minute hike up to the viewpoint, providing a beautiful view of the bridge and cliffs!

5

The Scarborough Hotel - Best panoramic views of the cliffs

bar

Local secret; enjoy a bev with nothing but ocean views

Take it from me, this is a hidden local gem. Don't judge it too quickly, because the true beauty is out the back of the hotel!

So, treat yourself to a drink in the outdoor dining area, while taking in the stunning sights of the cliffs and the ocean. The view is nothing short of incredible, with the ocean stretching out beneath you and the rugged cliffs rising up around you. Best of all, you're right next to the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge, making the scene even more iconic.

6

Sharkey Beach - Grassy beach, beautiful for sunset

beach

Beachfront carpark on the highway

Right off the highway, we love to pull in here in the early afternoon and hang at the beach, and then cook up dinner at sunset.

With its laidback vibe and stunning ocean views, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. Whether you're into surfing, swimming, or just chilling - this place is a vibe x

7

Wombara - 360 views of the sunrise

Sightseeing

A favourite spot to watch the sunrise over the waves

Such a stunning spot to soak up the sunrise from the comfort of the van/ troop, an then stroll down to the beach for a walk and swim.

Very chill coastal town, such nice vibes and the main road stretches along the coast - so stunning!
