What you'll do

Day 1

1

Casuarina Beach - Where we base in Darwin

beach

From sunrise strolls, to beachfront coffee, to sunset sips

Casuarina Beach is our favourite spot to base when in Darwin; it feels like your own personal paradise.

We'd start our day with a sunrise stroll along the beach - watching the first light paint the sky in soft hues - so magic!

Then we'd do a little workout on the lawn by the surf club, have a shallow (watch out for crocs!!) dip and quick outdoor shower, before heading over to De La Plage for a morning coffee, where I'd set up my laptop and work for a bit. This has to be my favourite cafe in Darwin - right on the beachfront!

In the evenings, Casuarina transforms into a local social haven. You can grab a drink from the Surf Club bar while watching the sunset turn the sky into a breathtaking canvas of colours!

Jumping Crocodile & Wildlife Tour - INSANE

tours

Now this is some true blue Aussie shit

Blimey, this is some Aussie shit!

If you're looking for a true outback experience, you have to check out the Jumping Croc Tours at Adelaide River. There are two companies running these tours, both offering the same wild adventure, but definitely take a minute to check prices and availability to see what suits you best. Both companies do a great job showing you these incredible crocs in action, leaping out of the water to snatch a snack. It’s honestly a bit mind-blowing seeing these massive reptiles so close up—totally gives you an appreciation for their power!

The boat ride itself is super chill, and it’s such a unique experience if you’re keen to tick something off your bucket list. Just a heads-up though: it can get pretty hot out there, so keep some water handy, slap on sunscreen, and maybe bring a hat. There’s no pet-friendly policy here, so leave your doggo at home for this one.

Also, if you’re doing the Litchfield circuit, it’s an easy stop to make after your park adventures. Plus, there are a few other local spots around to grab a bite or cool off, so make a day of it. Trust me, you won’t forget this one!
