Apollonia Archaeological Park is one of Albania’s most important ancient sites, located just outside Fier and making a great stop when driving between Tirana and Vlorë. Founded in 588 BC by Greek colonists, it later became an important Roman city and cultural center. Today you can explore ruins such as temples, an ancient theater, and the Monument of the Agonothetes, along with a small museum inside a historic monastery.

The entrance fee is around 600 lek (€6), and most visits take about 1–2 hours. It’s best to go in the morning or late afternoon, especially in summer, as the site can get quite hot during the middle of the day.
