Butrint National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Albania’s most fascinating historical and natural attractions, just about a 15-minute drive from Ksamil. It’s a unique archaeological site where Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian remains sit among wetlands and forests, showing thousands of years of history in one place. The park is best explored on foot, and you should plan to spend around 2–3 hours wandering through ruins like the ancient theatre, baptistery, and city walls for a full experience. Entrance currently costs around 1,000 Lek (10 euro) for adults, with discounted rates for youth and children; tickets are usually bought in cash at the gate. Visiting here feels like stepping back in time while also enjoying the park’s beautiful natural setting.
