Lëkurësi Castle sits high above Sarandë and offers what I consider the best sunset viewpoint in the city, and one of the best in the Albanian Riviera. From the top, you get sweeping views over Sarandë, the Ionian Sea, and Corfu in the distance. If you’re in town for an evening, this is one of the most memorable places to experience golden hour.
Getting up there involves a narrow uphill drive that can be a bit tricky, especially during peak summer season when traffic builds up and cars are constantly going both directions. If possible, go earlier than sunset to avoid the worst congestion and to secure a better table outside.
The castle itself has been converted into a restaurant and bar. Personally, I’d strongly recommend skipping a full meal here and instead booking an outdoor table for drinks while you enjoy the sunset. Prices are touristy, as expected for a landmark spot, but in my opinion it’s still worth doing once for the atmosphere and the view alone.
