Located right near the heart of Gjirokastër’s old town, Hotel Musée is a beautifully restored Ottoman-era guesthouse that blends history with comfort. It’s just a short walk from the bazaar and castle, yet tucked away on a quiet street, making it a perfect base for exploring the city.
When I stayed here, breakfast was definitely a highlight: homemade jams, honey, and traditional dishes served on a terrace with views above Gjirokastra. The rooms have beautiful interiors and are full of character, with carved wood details, comfortable beds, and in some cases balconies overlooking the town.
The family who runs it is exceptionally welcoming, always ready to help with recommendations. If you’re looking for a central, cozy stay in Gjirokastër with a great view and warm hospitality, Hotel Musée is an excellent choice.
