Gjergj Kastrioti National Museum is dedicated to Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, the 15th-century Albanian leader who resisted the Ottoman Empire and is considered the country’s most important national figure.

Located at the end of the Old Bazaar in Krujë, the museum sits within the grounds of Krujë Castle. Inside, you’ll find exhibits covering Skanderbeg’s life, including historical artifacts, weapons, paintings, and detailed displays explaining his battles and legacy. The building itself is also impressive, with a grand, almost fortress-like design, and has a beautiful panoramic view of Krujë from the terrace.

The entrance fee is around 500 Lek (€5), and you’ll typically spend an hour exploring, depending on your interest in history.

Overall, it’s a key cultural stop in Krujë, especially if you want to better understand Albania’s history while visiting the Old Bazaar and castle area.
