Dajti Mountain (Mali i Dajtit) is the main mountain just outside Tirana, offering a quick escape from the city with cooler air and views over the capital.
There are two main ways to get there from the city center. The most straightforward is to drive or take a taxi, which takes about 30–40 minutes depending on traffic. Alternatively, you can head to Dajti Ekspres Cable Car and take the cable car up from there, which takes around 15 minutes and costs roughly €10–12 round trip.
At the top, the main attraction is Dajti’s Balcony, a restaurant and viewpoint with panoramic views over Tirana. There are also a few activities around the area, including hiking trails, a small adventure park, and spots to relax in nature.
It’s best to visit on a clear day for the views, and ideally on a weekday, as it can get quite busy on weekends with people heading up for lunch or a break from the city.
Personally, I don’t think it’s a must-do unless you have extra time in Tirana. It’s a nice short escape, but Albania has far more impressive mountain landscapes, especially in the north (like Theth or Valbona) or even in the south around Llogara National Park.
