Llogara National Park is one of the most scenic drives in Albania. Until about two years ago, it was the only way to travel from Vlora to Dhërmi by car. Now, with the new tunnel in place, most people take the faster route, which cuts the travel time significantly.
That said, the drive through Llogara National Park is truly spectacular and absolutely worth doing at least once. The road winds through forested mountain terrain before climbing higher and eventually descending toward Dhërmi, revealing dramatic, panoramic views of the Albanian Riviera from above. The contrast between dense pine woods and the bright blue coastline is unforgettable.
It is a very curvy, winding road, and in some sections the drop-offs can feel steep. If you’re uncomfortable with narrow mountain roads or ledges, it might not be the most relaxing drive. But if you’re up for it, it’s one of the most beautiful stretches of road in the country.
