Gjipe Beach is one of the most beautiful and unique beaches in Albania, located between Dhërmi and Himara. It’s a long, wide stretch of coastline set at the end of a dramatic canyon, giving it a more wild and untouched feel compared to many other Riviera beaches.
The beach is about a 20–30 minute drive from either Dhërmi or Himara, followed by a 30-minute hike down from what’s marked as “Gjipe Beach Parking” on Google Maps. The hike isn’t too difficult and offers great views of the beach along the way. You can also reach Gjipe by boat from Dhërmi or Himara if you prefer to skip the walk.
Personally, I recommend visiting in the off-season (April, May, October), when the beach is quieter and not filled with sunbeds. During peak summer, it can get quite crowded, as it’s become very popular. Also, be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and snacks: there are only a few bars/restaurants on the beach, and they’re not always open.
