Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër) is a natural spring located about a 30-minute drive from Sarandë, known for its deep, vivid blue color and crystal-clear water. The “eye” itself is a circular pool where icy water bubbles up from underground, creating a striking contrast of dark and light blue shades.
There is a paid parking area at the entrance (around 300–500 Lek / €3–5) and a small entrance. From there, it’s roughly a 20–30 minute walk along a path to reach the spring.
You don’t need too much time here: 30 to 60 minutes is usually enough to walk around, take photos, and enjoy the view. It does get very crowded in summer, especially midday, so visiting early in the morning or later in the afternoon is a better experience.
Personally, I find it a bit overrated given how much it’s been hyped as a must-see attraction. If you’re comparing, the Blue Eye Kaprre near Theth is much more impressive: more natural, less crowded, and part of a beautiful hike.
That said, if you’re staying in Sarandë and want a short inland excursion away from the beaches, it’s still a decent option for a few hours.
