Glymur Waterfall is Iceland's second-tallest waterfall, standing at 650 feet high and fed by the river Botnsa. The hike to Glymur takes about three and a half hours round trip from the car park, with a thrilling river crossing and steep climb up the canyon. The name "Glymur" comes from an old Icelandic legend involving a man-turned-whale and a loud, echoing rumble. Nearby attractions include Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls, as well as the historic towns of Akranes and Borgarnes. Don't forget to pack sturdy shoes, water, and snacks for this adventure!
